Borrowing the Brush
Created: January—April, 2020
Four local Winnipeg artists, each with distinct art styles, attempt to learn each other’s techniques in order to create a piece for an upcoming art auction for charity.
Borrowing The Brush is an upcoming four-part documentary produced by my classmates and I for BellMTS. For Episode 4: Spotlight on Robert Casale, I helped operate the cameras, light the scenes, transcribe the interviews, shotlog the footage, and create the promotional poster for the episode.
Since the series hasn’t aired yet, I’ve assembled a short 30-second sizzle reel of my shots. PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS NOT OFFICIAL PROMOTIONAL MATERIAL FOR "BORROWING THE BRUSH." IT IS FOR PORTFOLIO USE ONLY. THE FOOTAGE SEEN IN THIS DEMO REEL DOES NOT REPRESENT THE FINAL PRODUCT.
John Dies at the End.
Created: November 2019
After accidentally sleeping in on the day of a big job interview, John is horrified to find that he can’t leave his house. To make matters worse, there’s a complete stranger his house who keeps insisting that John should check the basement.
John Dies at the End (no relation to the film of the same name) was a short student film I helped produce, write, storyboard, shoot, and edit.
While I didn’t come up with the concept of the film, I was able to help beat-sheet the story and was in charge of writing the final draft — I had become much more invested (and learned alot more about) screenwriting and videography since the last time I was able to produce a student film.
Pokémon Gone: A Documentary About Pokémon Go
Created: March-April 2017
The summer of Pokémon GO in 2016 was unforgettable for all the right reasons, yet it didn’t take long for the game to fade into obscurity once the sheen wore off.
This was a shot student documentary I made back at The University of Winnipeg. I was on the fence about including this doc since I was pretty inexperienced when I made this (not to mention, I can never publicly publish this since it’s loaded with copyrighted music and footage), so please be aware that this doesn’t demonstrate 100% of my current skillset.
That said, I put a lot of love in this videos motion graphics and I had an absolute blast putting this together as a life-long Pokémon fan.
